Waterfield has expanded over the years to become a two form entry Primary School, undergoing many exciting building phases. We are proud to have an integrated nursery that allows us to welcome children at the age of three into our school in a safe and purposeful setting. Our idyllic location, beside the millpond, provides a beautiful natural contrast to the busy urban setting of neighbouring Crawley and the global gateway of Gatwick. Waterfield celebrates a rich and diverse community in which every language, culture and religion form an important aspect of our curriculum and learning.
Underpinning our learning community is our belief in ‘Aiming High and Achieving Our Best’, this ethos is upheld by both the children and staff at Waterfield. By collaborating together our dedicated staff endeavour to provide memorable and inspiring learning experiences for our children. At Waterfield, we acknowledge our role as co-educators and invite all our families and carers to take an active part in their children’s learning journey.
Waterfield joined ‘The Collegiate Trust’ in March 2018. In collaboration with the Trust we embrace their vision of providing ‘Exceptional Education for All’ and are happy to herald in a new era of development for the school. Utilising an ambitious learning community, and fostering relationships with our partner schools, Waterfield benefits from extensive experience and expertise that enables our strengths to flourish.
I feel privileged to have been appointed as Principal (effect from Easter 2019). I have joined Waterfield after working in East Sussex and prior to that in Singapore. I hold a firm belief that we all have an important role in developing our children to become global citizens, who are equipped with the skills they will require to tackle the world of tomorrow. School should be a happy place, where every child has the opportunities to explore and discover their talents amongst a strong foundation of essential core skills.
Do take your time to explore our website which gives you an insight into our ethos and the unique experiences explored by our children. We are always happy to discuss our school in greater depth and welcome any suggestions and feedback.
